Lake George
During our recent
family vacation,
we took
a break
at the lake
to come
into town
and visit
St. Cloud's
Lake George
with
its
floral
gardens
and
fishing
piers.
That afternoon, the park staff hosted free fishing for kids.
Noah wet
a line,
lost
a few
meal worms
as bait,
but pulled in
nothing -
not even
a sunfish.
Later,
I
walked
the
newly-
laid
brick
path
around
the lake.
And
the
boys
paddled
its
waters.
More than a century ago,
this lake was part of the boys'
Great-great-great Grandpa
John Oscar McConnell's farm before the land became a city park.
