Early Spring?

The fog
has not
lifted
for
two
days.

No sun.
No shadows.
It's Groundhog Day.

The German tradition has it:

If a hibernating animal casts its shadow on February 2nd
 - the Christian holiday of Candlemas -

winter will last six more weeks.

 If no shadow
"frightens
the critter
back into
its burrow,"

spring
will come
early.

What else can we expect but an Early Spring?
