Hooray for Giveaways

Editor's Note: For nearly one month, this blogger has been out-of-order due to computer failure. During that time, stories down poured like our area's immense rainfall. Through photos, journal entries and copies of cards written, I kept record so that when my new laptop arrived, I'd be able to post at least a few highlights of by-gone days.

Well, posting time is here. I've spent the past week getting acquainted with my Dell. Today I've played with Photoshop. Tonight I blog again.

Dear news paper staff,

My husband loves to complain. I love to leave him speechless. Thanks for making that dream come true. How?

When it came time to find homes for our mama cat's kittens, I came into your office to place a "Free Kittens" ad. Your desk attendant surprised me by offering a one-week "Giveaways" ad free of charge.

Within two days of its Sunday run, the ad brought grateful people to our home. A gal and her friend came 30 miles to pick out a male kitten to replace a pet lost the previous week.

An older woman and her husband drove pronto from their home an hour away to adopt our one orange female. Before driving away, the woman said, "God bless you. We've been looking for months for an orange female kitten. She's beautiful!"

And a parochial school teacher and her husband drove their three young sons 20 miles out to us for a surprise: one kitten for each boy! She said, "We'd have taken all five. We need mousers on the farm."

Yes, speechless was my husband.

NO COST
to him.

Just happy endings all around.

May God Bless You too for that dream come true!

Sharing a thank-you card written July 24th - shortly before our family's week-long vacation. Hooray for Giveaways!

Woo hoo---this is great news! Too often it's so difficult to find homes for lovely little kittens. I'm very happy that each one was adopted by people who really wanted a new cat in their lives.

Also very happy you have adopted a new PC and are making friends with it. :-) I hope you can salvage all of your treasures from the Mac.
